So early this morning, I made my way to the Charleston Civic Center to see our future president. My Brother, My mother and I were three rows back and could see the twinkle in his eye. This guy, for lack of a more badass word, is a badass. Sure, he knows many of the people voting against him tomorrow are racist, but he was here in the flesh speaking to their problems.
Here in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, a few celebrities have major influence.
Randy Moss, Brad Paisley, Jay Rockefeller, Senator Byrd, Don Knotts (RIP), and of course
THE MOTHMAN:
So as someone who has been in front of the Huntington Convention center with a bullhorn and Obama signs, pleading with the pedestrians and city folk to please vote for Obama, my intuition tells me Hillary is going to take this state in a landslide.
In fact "The Clinton Family" is coming:
We live in historic times, where the consequences of the next few months will set in motion events which will shape our world in a dramatic fashion. Since its inception, America has captured the attention of the rest of the world as one of the most successful experiments in government in history. We went from a fractured state of settlers from different nations, to a strong nation, which through many measures, is the greatest country in the world. We set the trends the rest of the free world follows, more than any other country.
Fear not Obama faithful. As a former intern at the Ohio Democratic Party headquarters, I could see the writing on the wall of a Clinton victory much before tonight. She was our chief guest at the Democratic State Dinner, the ohio dems love their governor and party officials, and what they say pretty much goes. So Clinton was running for Ohio much longer than the recent media attention would suggest.
As one of the only defenders of Don Imus on this website I wish to write a requiem. Finally the mob has his head! As the corporate media caves to the pressure of Al "friend of the jew" Sharpton, and a mass defection of corporate sponsors, I feel more indifferent about Don Imus losing his job at MSNBC than I thought I would. Don Imus was a unique voice, someone who brought attention to great causes such as autism, and sickle cell anemea, and provided children with life threatining diseases with a unique empowering opportunity at his ranch. Over the years he was an equal opportunity offender, but I never sensed much malice in his heart.
AMERICA has been set of fire by the recent hateful speech of shock jock Don Imus, who was once known as a paragon of all that is important. Don Imus, whose title was once "THE INFALLIBLE ONE" has apologized to the African American community, for his comments calling the Rutgers Womens team "Nappy headed hos." Don Imus has released the following statement:
As someone who has watched Don Imus on MSNBC countless times over the years, and read up on the racist remarks of his co hosts (Norm Coleman's cousin Sid Rosenberg) and Imus himself, I have to defend the guy. He has apologized, and recognized his mistake, and asked for forgiveness.
THIS IS NO JOKE!
http://cbsplayer.streamtheworld.com/... Um this weird, something is going on in New York concerning gas. Howard stern just abruptly ended his live show because of some foul gas smelling odor, and I dont think it was his own flatulence. What is going on in NYC?
Were there any terror alerts? Where is his studio located?
They said the police were outside the building? I dont think this has ever happened?
I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, LISTEN TO THE MAYOR AND RADIO FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, hell, even fox news cant go wrong!
See these kids, these so called "Maccacas", well guess what, you are finished because of us, because we are americans just like you, and many of us voted against you, donated money, because we wont tolerate an inch of your bullshit.
Argh Iran, you idiots. Not only is your country one of the most repressive governments in modern history, you have the balls to claim you somehow have a right to one the worlds most dangerous and catastropic technologies? I thought it was bad when pakistan, another country which is highly unstable, declared it had a right to nuclear power, but now this! Iran is more dangerous than pakistan. They scream death to america openly in their senate(?). Their radical right wing prime minister, president, whatever, hates jews, and denies the holocaust.
Now condelezza rice is on cnn saying the time for action is immanent, if that isnt dejavu speak, i dont know what is. http://www.cnn.com/...
Im sure most people have heard about or seen the cartoon that has shocked the Islamic world into outrage. I refuse to see it out of respect for the wishes of the islamic people. Normally I think anything is fair game, including cartoons of bad taste, but in a way I understand why muslims are outraged that the prophet mohammed's picture was even printed.
As a west virginian whose heart is broken with the rest of my family back home I ask the question:
What the fuck happened to accurate reporting? This evening I saw Anderson Cooper consult an emotionally distraught relative of one of the miners for confirmation about whether or not 12 survivors had indeed been found. That was his source! You can Blame the Governor, Blame the Company spokesman, but who went out and told the whole goddamn world, without any word from an official source that there were 12 miners alive!? Whose job is it to make sure that is true? Hasnt anyone ever heard of confirmation bias? Don't they teach that in Journalism School?
Looks like the message is getting out, and John Kerry is leading the way (Sorry,Markos its true). 20,000 troops home by the holidays. Its a goal we can meet. Whether or not you like John Kerry, he is giving everyone an opportunity to use the momentum we generated in 2004, to help plant the seed of change in our Iraq war policy. It begins with a contribution to get this billboard up on the highways and neighborhoods of Republican districts. It ends with our soldiers coming home with their dignity and honor.
Issue 2: Makes it easier to vote by allowing all Ohioans to vote by mail
Issue 3: Helps stop the influence of big money in elections by greatly reducing campaign contributions.
Issue 4: Stops the politicians from drawing their own legislative districts and puts an Independent Commission in charge of this process.
Issue 5: Places a bi-partisan Board of Supervisors in charge of Ohio's elections, instead of a partisan official who backs candidates and takes sides in elections.
As I walked to my polling place this afternoon, dreary from a night of studying psychomotor reflexes,I had a bad feeling about today as I looked at the ballot. I understood what each of the initiatives entailed, but from watching the commericials I knew Reform Ohio Now acts were going to fail.
Subodh Chandra is running for Attorney General of Ohio, and is sure to be a future leader in the Democratic Party. The following is an article describing why Subodh Chandra is one of the best hopes for Ohio Dems.
